
- 4 oz. / 120g unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 C shortening (or butter)
- 2 C sugar
- 2 t vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 2 C flour
- 2 t baking powder
- 1/2 t salt
- 6 oz. / 180 g chocolate chips
- 1 C powdered sugar
Melt choc and shortening together over double boiler. Stir in sugar. Cool.
Add vanilla, beat in eggs one at a time.
In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt. Stir flour mix into chocolate mix. Stir in chocolate chips. Refrigerate dough several hours or overnight.
Make small balls of dough and roll each one in powdered sugar, coating them completely. Place cookies on a greased baking sheet
Bake cookies at 375°F / 160°C for 10 minutes.
